About Tony LaMartina
Anthony Francis LaMartina (October 27, 1953 – January 11, 2023) was a St. Louis Master Plumber and the founder of Tony LaMartina Plumbing. His grandfather Vincenzo came from Sicily and worked as a laborer for local contractors. His father Jim, born 1927, was the first LaMartina to earn a Master Plumber license and opened LaMartina Plumbing in the 1950s. Tony apprenticed there in 1973 and started his own company under his name in 1982, then found the residential old-home niche.
The company still tells it that he was the first plumber in St. Louis to carry a mobile phone in the 1980s, and that if you called the office, most of the time Tony answered it himself. The shop is at 5705 Dale Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110. He is survived by his wife Claire, four children including Matt, and ten grandchildren.
